The last weeks pictures had a rather dark and dismal tune due to the winter time. But now spring is arriving. And even though the daisies have to fight hoarfrost, one can see that winter has lost.

Die Bilder der letzten Wochen waren spiegelten die dunkle und triste Stimmung der ausgehenden Winterzeit dar. Aber nun kommt der Frühling und obwohl die Gänseblümchen gegen den Rauhreif kämpfen müssen kann man schon erahnen, dass der Winter vorbei ist.

I took part in the foto contest of the Free University in Berlin and won the first price!! The picture was made from the fourth floor of a chemistry building on the campus of the university. It shows a boy who seems to touch the "Berlin brain", which is the a library of the university. The sun is low and increases the reflections on the window which makes a three dimensional effect.

Ich habe am Fotowettbewerb der Freien Universität, Berlin teilgenommen und den ersten Preis gewonnen. Das Bild wurde aus einem Fenster des 4. Stocks des Chemiebaus auf den Kuppelbau der philologischen Bibliothek fotografiert. Ein Junge berührt scheinbar das „Berlin Brain“. Die tiefstehende Sonne verstärkt den plastischen Effekt der Junge und „Berlin Brain“ als Einheit erscheinen lässt.

Today I was walking by a small pond. The trees were perfectly reflected in this pond. Everything was calm. I was taking a picture upside down. It is difficult to see, that it is just the image and not the real thing.

At some point some ducks were swimming and making waves which made the trees shiver.

Heute kam ich an einem kleinen Teich vorbei. Eine Reihe von Bäumen spiegelten sich darin.

Es war alles still und unbewegt. Ich machte ein Foto - wenn man es umdreht kan man fast nicht erkennen, dass es nur die Spiegelung ist.

Später kamen zwei Enten vorbei und machten Wellen-und brachten so die Bäume zum erzittern. - Ganz ohne Windhauch!

Licht- und Schattenwurf einer geriffelten Wand mit Lautsprecher und Dose mit Licht von rechts oben. Irisierend für die Augen.

Today was stormy with snow and soft hail. I tried to catch this atmosphere. In the first picture I fotographed the snow flakes against the clouds, which made them look gray. In the second picture the snow flakes are clearly seen against the windows. The third pictures shows soft hail (graupel) in the grass (but just for few minutes before they thawed).

Heute war ein Tag mit Schnee und Graupelschauern. Ich habe versucht, diese Stimmung festzuhalten. Das erste Bild zeigt Schneeflocken vor dem Himmel (Gegenlicht) wodurch sie ganz grau erscheinen. Beim zweiten Bild hebt sich das Schneegestöber gegen die Fensterfront deutlich ab. Und im dritten Bild sind die Graupel im Gras zu sehen (allerdings nur kurz - nach 15 min war alles weggeschmolzen.)

I love formations of clouds - sometimes one can catch on one picture a variety of different types. When the evening sun is painting them with shades of pink or orange this is artwork in my eyes.

Ich liebe Wolkenformationen - manchmal kann man auf einem Bild gleich mehrere Wolkenformen festhalten. Wenn die Abendsonne die Wolken in rosa oder orange anfärbt ist das in meinen Augen Kunst.
